I photograph weddings the same way I photograph everyday life. I try to capture the unexpected, and the small moments that nobody else notices.
My approach is relaxed and documentary, but I'm just as happy to make considered portraits and more editorial-style photographs. My aim with wedding photography is to create striking & timeless images that authentically capture the energy of the day.
A little about me
I'm Cal Holland, a UK-based photographer whose work centres on candid observation and the beauty in everyday human behaviour. In 2025, I was named AP Magazine's UK Film Photographer of the Year.
I bring years of professional photography experience working with leading hospitality brands, including Hawksmoor. Together with my personal photography practice, this has given me a considered eye for atmosphere, people and candid moments.
I shoot primarily on film, developing and scanning everything myself. It's a more involved way of working, but I like knowing that each photograph has been carefully handled and considered from start to finish.
